Construction and Donation of Boreholes

On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, The ED of Betso Charity Foundation, conducted an unplanned visit to Dunderè Community in Yola South, Adamawa State. The visit aimed to assess the functionality and impact of the handpump borehole constructed by the Foundation. During her visit, Dr. Betso met with community leaders and members, including the local head (Mai Anguwa), to discuss their experiences and any challenges related to the borehole.The community confirmed that the borehole is functioning effectively, providing a reliable and clean water supply. This project has significantly improved the quality of life for residents, reducing the time and effort required to collect water from distant sources, and enabling children and women to engage in other essential activities such as education and household chores.A maintenance committee established by the community leadership ensures the borehole’s upkeep, demonstrating local ownership and active management. Dr. Betso assured the community of the Foundation’s ongoing support to ensure the project’s sustainability. In 2020, Betso Charity Foundation addressed a critical need in the Wuro Kuturu community of Adamawa State by constructing a borehole, providing reliable access to clean water. Prior to this intervention, the community faced significant hardship due to the lack of accessible and potable water, which adversely affected their health and wellbeing. The borehole project has since transformed the daily lives of the residents, reducing waterborne diseases and enhancing overall quality of life. This initiative underscores the foundation’s commitment to improving living conditions and promoting sustainable development within underserved communities.

Eid al-Adha Animal Sacrifice event in Adamawa State.

The foundation distributed meat portions ranging from 4 to 8 kilograms in Jimeta, the capital city, ensuring that families in need received nutritious meals.The atmosphere was filled with joy and gratitude as smiles and laughter marked the occasion. This event highlighted the increasing demand for food and essential supplies among our beneficiaries.Betso Charity Foundation is proud to partner with the Turkish government to address the Eid al-Adha animal sacrifice needs in our community. This donation encapsulates our efforts to create a more equitable society. We are committed to supporting those in need and believe that everyone deserves access to basic necessities, including food.

Children’s Party in partnership with Turkye Diyanet Foundation

On 21st June, Betso Charity Foundation, in collaboration with the Turkye Diyanet Foundation, organized a remarkable children’s party in Jimeta, the capital city of Adamawa State. This vibrant event brought together over 300 children from the local community, including Almajiri Children from various schools in Jimeta and Yola.The event was filled with joy, love, and laughter, featuring a variety of fun activities such as dancing competitions, balloon catch, chair dance, and numerous games that kept the children entertained. The Executive Director of Betso Charity Foundation emphasized the importance of inclusivity and bridging societal gaps, ensuring that all children, regardless of their background, felt valued and equal.A delicious serving of Nigerian jollof rice and juice ensured no child went home hungry. Gifts, goodies, and cash prizes were distributed to participants, adding to the excitement and joy of the day.More than just a day of entertainment, the event fostered friendships, joy, and community spirit, while raising awareness about the foundation’s mission.
